it's just for one week, but for starting riding after a long rehab again the perfect programm I think:

One week freeriding on La Palma, Spain with Guido Tschugg, Rob-J-Heran, Stefan Schlie, Daniel Schäfer and some more nice guys. Can't wait to be back on my bike again.

two day ski trip

Hey all,

puh, back home after two days in winter wonderland.
The Suzuki Nine Knights MTB resort was the place Markus Greber and myself chose for having awesome times in skiing.

The locals are the best ones you can imagine and they showed us the best places I've ever skied in my life. Pure epicness, the whole day long. We did 10250 vertical meters - not on the slopes, just off piste - that's unbelievable.

So I think there is nothing more to say, just enjoy the pictures:

Hey guys,

I wish you all a happy new year, good times and lots of success.

For me 2012 started with a week full of action. I spent my time with Andi Brewi and we had so much fun in riding some shows.

First the Kids ski race at Tegernsee was the place to be for us and we rode two shows on a woodern jump. For me it was the first time after my injury on the dirtjump bike again and it felt so good to do some tricks again.

After Tegernsee we rode to the Suzuki Nine Knights resort Neukirchen am Großvenediger for the Freestyle night. Dew to bad weather conditions, in fact nearly 1m fresh pow, the bike show got cancled and just the freeskier made a great show for the huge mass of visitors.

So I decided to go powder skiing the next day and it was the best day skiing ever, thx Schweini for guiding.

Hey,

yesterday the first edition of my Bavarian Junior Session took place at my hometrails:
We had a great day with perfect weather conditions. Over 60 young guns under 18 years old rode the Jam session contest split into two categories. The younger riders had the chance to ride the small lines and the riders with more skillls could show them on the bigger sets.
Also pro riders from Munich like Rob-J, Maggi Baumann, Moritz Zapp and Florian Berghammer showed there new Tricks or helped me in judging the Jam Session.

The results are:

Small lines:
- Best overall rider: Pasi Völkl
- Best style: Thorben Eggling
- Best Trick: Jonas Berger

Big lines:
- Best overall: Kobi Sturm
- Best line: Oscar Tepelmann
- Best Trick: Franz (720)

Oscar Tepelmann wone the overall price, cause Kobi Sturm is already sponsored. Thx Giant Bicycles for the brand new STP singnature frame. Also thx for the prices to zimtstern, spank, oakley and A-Line-Shop.
Thx Red Bull for making that nice event possible. The Kids were more than happy and all in all about 300 people enjoyed the great day.

I have a really big scar next to my little ones of the shoulder surgery right know, but I hope it's going to work good.

Hey all,

as you know I just nearly finished my shoulder recovery and was really looking forward to some nice riding and shooting days in the upcoming weeks/months befor the snow is in the air.

But things changed quite quick the day before yesterday:
I went to my homespot for a easy going dirtjump session - it was just the third time riding dirtbike after my shoulder injury.
Everything worked perfect and I decided to ride without any tricks and did just straight jumps.
In one run I made a moto whip, sticked my bar in my trousers and couldn't do anything.
I crashed hard on the left side of my body again, straight on the shoulder and my head.

The result is a broken collarbone and some bruises on my whole body...
Super cool after a 3 month reha to get surgery again tomorrow in the morning....so disapointed about that :(

The good thing in that story is that my shoulder is still healthy and my helmet, which is broken, saved my life this time - thx TSG!!

So the season is done for me, I really hope 2012 is gettin better than this year.
Right now I'm just remebering lots of nice moments of this season like my dirtjump sessions in the beginning of the year, the Suzuki Nine Knights Event and the super nice days of riding I had the last few weeks after my shoulder surgery.

Hey all,

time went by and lots of things happened the last few weeks.
I spent my last 2 months in Neukirchen, Austria for building a nice set up for the Suzuki Nine Knights event, that's why I couldn't post as much about what I'm doing the last weeks:

Finally my event took place at Urlaubsarena Wildkogel one week ago and I like to tell you about that most awesome week in my career:

We had perfect weather conditions, just the public day on Saturday couldn't take place due to bad weather conditions (snow). I'm really sorry for all the locals, because they really deserved to see a nice contest on the Wildkogel mountain and over 2000 people already planned watching that nice spectacle.

But we could produce tons of epic video and photo footage during the week and I'm really proud that 10 of the world best athletes joined my event in Austria.
It was a great moment for me when all the riders have seen the set up for the first time and came back after their first rides with a big smile in their faces.
So proud to be chosen by freeskier Nico Zacek and event agent Stefan Weitnauer as the MTB athlete who transforms his beautiful event concept to the MTB world.

Right now I'm super stoked to see how many pages of coverage are coming up in the next magazines and lots of TV channels are going to show the TV-Clips.

My shoulder is getting better and better, I could even produce some freeride footage during Nine Knights and I already planned a reshoot at the unique Nine Knights Big Air set up.

Hey all,

sometimes life is a bitch...

Crazy how fast and without a horrible crash it is possible dislocating your shoulder.

I headed of to the zimtstern shoot to Saalbach Hinterglemm last Wednesday. Weather was really rainy and muddy. We decided shooting a not really big drop with a muddy and short landing.

I checked in, cleared the drop but couldn't brake after the landing. I slid away and fell on my left side.

The bad thing was that I hit a stone or something with my shoulder and I think it hit my shoulder in the worst direction it could. So my shoulder got dislocated and we straight drove to the hospital.

After one hour of pain and waiting the doctor took it in again - the result is a 3 - 4 week breake.

Not really good - season 2011 is on and I'm missing some really important contests right now. First one is in Leogang, the 26Trix next weekend. But I'll be there on Saturday for watching and pushing my friends.

I'll hopefully be back in beginning of July.

But no worries, there are a lot of things coming up the next days concerning some trips and the Suzuki Nine Knights event.

Suzuki Nine Knights is coming to life

Hey all,

as you may be already realized the Suzuki Nine Knights event is taking place at Wildkogel mountain in August.

I'm really stoked hosting such an event and really looking forward to build the freeride and dirtjump tracks in the upcoming weeks in Neukirchen/Austria.
It's really time to create such an event concept. Nine Knights tries to show our sport on unique castle style freeride and jump obstacles and the best photographer and filmer in the world are shooting the worlds top athletes right there.

Big names like my Giant team mate Kurt Sorge, Swedish superstar Martin Söderström, Yannick Granieri from Frane, Paul Bas from USA, Geoff Gulevich from Canada, legend Timo Pritzel and local hero Niki Leitner are sharing this happening with me. Some special guests are planned as well, so watch out!

Hey all,

wow, I just had awesome times with Austrians top rider Andi Brewi while shooting for my next Click it Episode.
The project for this one is building and riding the first permanent rideable superkicker jump for mountainbikes and we completed the mission on Friday.
The result are awesome photo and video shots, sick tricks have been stomped over the 9 meter superkicker jump and also creative ideas influenced our riding.

So here some first impressions for you, enjoy.

Puh, lots of work during the last week...
Finally it has been time to check in the new Big Air Line at the BA-Trails. Andi Brewi and myself had an awesome session. Both of us were really scared in trying it first time but it worked out fine:

Lots of pedaling in the beginning, as hard as you can, and than a 8 meter speed jump which you don't like to case. The line works BUT still some speed issues.
So at the moment I'm searching for a better solution getting a faster in run. The jump distance is 7,5 meters now and we like to jump between 9 and 10 meters.
Not an easy job realising that but we are really confident finding a good way. Bigger speed jump may be? Lets see - you can be curious what's going on the upcoming days.

Super Kicker building BA-Trails

Hey all,

Andi Brewi and lots of other friends helped me building a huge jump during the last week. It's really time for a big but also safe jump for progrssing the level of tricks on a mountainbike.
Basti Happ (onlyramps) designed and built a huge super kicker ramp (3m high) for our park and so we have the first existing always ridable super kicker jump world wide. Thx Red Bull for supporting that project.

BA-Trails Bad Aibling: Young guns are coming up

Die BA-Trails in Bad Aibling/ Harthausen sind in Dirtjump Fachkreisen ein Begriff, u.a. aufgrund der von Andi Wittmann 2010 initiierten Bavarian Super Session. Seit März bildet sich nun eine feste Vereinsarbeit mit einem Team von Dirt-Begeisterten (Andi Wittmann, Christian Morgenroth, Arnd Völkel und Martin Neumayr).

Ziel ist es auf einem anspruchsvollen Trail auch für motivierten Nachwuchs einen leistungsbezogenen Einstieg in diese Sportart zu ermöglichen. Die Nachwuchsförderung im MTB Dirtjumping ist noch nicht vorhanden und es wird Zeit für eine Anlaufstelle, die den Jungendlichen die Vielseitigen Inhalte des Sports zeigt.

Eingebettet als Sparte „Dirt-Jump“ im Verein SC Bad Aibling ist dieses laut Bayrischem Radsportverband der erste Verein dieser Art in der für den Verband völlig neuen Sportart „Dirt Jump“. Das hier das Bike im eigentlichen Sinne nicht als fahrbarer Untersatz benutzt wird, stört keinen.

Dirtjump ist eine junge Sportart, die viele begeistert und in der noch viel passieren wird, seit gespannt.

Vienna Air King 2011 - up and downs

Hey all,

hard days in Vienna are over. Last Tuesday I arrived for building the course with my zimtstern teammate Andi Brewi. This year building was harder than ever:
It's so early in the season and the dirt was still wet from winter. So we had lots of issues with soft spots in the landings and it took us ages till all landings were packed. Finally we finished everything on Thursday night and the Pre Qualis on Friday took place.

Ups:
Every year the same procedure: I was really tired from building the course and had to ride the qualis on Saturday. I got used to the course really quick and could bring my run together for the qualifying. I qualified 12th with a safe run and made myself ready for the best trick contest right after:
The level of riding was super high and you could see that there was a tough progression during winter. I was so happy to land my first cork 720 after 6 month again and was full of expectation including this trick in my final run on Sunday.

Downs:
Saturday night I went home really early from the riders party to be ready for the finals the next day. On Sunday I woke up and had some sick feelings in my stomach:
here we go - the worst stomach flu I've ever had. I couldn't eat and drink anything, my body just didn't keep anything.
The result was that I couldn't ride the finals and I'm so angry and sad about that. :(
But there is one good thing at least: My friend Yannik Granieri got my spot for the finals and could finish 2nd - congrats dude!!

Right now I hope to be ready to fly out to Portland for a Giant shooting with Kurt Sorge.

The off season in Germany has been really hard for mountain bikers this year. Our huge indoor park closed in 2010, so this is the first winter without any riding possibilities. Seeking warmth, I headed to Spain!

After a little break full of skiing and having fun in the snow I couldn’t wait any longer to get back on my new Giant STP and ride again.

Lars Scharl, a German photographer and filmer decided to join me on my trip to Barcelona, Spain. Thx for joining me.

Bikepark Lapoma was the place where I rode my bike the past few days and it's been great. Perfect weather, a huge bikepark with everything you need and nice people that made the trip really, really good.

Barcelona day 2 - bluebird finally!!!

This morning was like it should be:
Bluebird, 15°C - perfect conditions to ride bikes in winter.
So we made it to Lapoma Bikepark at 10 in the moring already and spent the whole day there.
I just rode a lot and learned some new stuff into the foam pit, really stoked!!

Barcelona day 1 - rain day...

Hey guys,

we have winter in Germany and I want to ride my bike so bad.
This is why I woke up this first morning in Barcelona so motivated and full of energy to ride.
And what happened? I watched out of the window and saw just rainy conditions - no way to ride, damn...

So we decided visiting Barcelona city and doing some funny lifestyle stuff.

Weather looks better for tomorrow, so I hope I can ride my bike than...pleaseeee ;)

Freeride trip to Liguria

Hey all,

Liguria, Italy was the last destination I went to for a photoshooting in 2010. Photographer Markus Greber and two guides spent there 4 days with Tibor Simai, Harald Philipp and myself to produce some nice shots of the beautifull freeride area arround Imperia, a nice italian city directly next to the sea.

I made a little Go Pro edit from the trails there - so enjoy them and I can just say: Visit Imperia, the trails are awesome and contact Matthias and Tobias for guiding. It's an awesome expirience.

Breckenridge, Colorado - just arrived

Hey guys,

I arrived at Breckenridge yesterday, it's my first time in the US and it's really exciting.

The taxis, the police cars and the huge trucks are looking exactly like in all the movies.
Christmas is also a really funny thing over here - every tree looks like a disco light.

I'm having good times over here with some friends and I already was skiing one time and checking out the fitness studio. Rally hard on 3000 - 4000 meters over sea.
Going to Camp woodward at copper the next days, looking forward to that.

I just came back from my last bike trip in 2010:
So much fun to travel one more time with Tibor Simai, Harald Philipp for shooting some freeride action. Markus Greber was the photographer and this combination was more than fun.

FRAMED video project – Mountain bike pro Andi Wittmann and isenseven member Felix Urbauer join forces

Munich, Germany, November 18^th 2010 – isenseven movies are well known for pointing out what’s state of the art in the European snowboard film business each year. Now, Felix Urbauer from isenseven and German freeride pro Andi Wittmann are presenting the first output of their FRAMED mountain bike project:

Andi Wittmann is an ambitioned rider from southern Germany, who made his way on the podiums of several international mountain bike freeride contests all over Europe in the last three years. Felix Urbauer owns ten years of working experience as a cameraman and editor. He got strong roots in snow- as well as skateboarding and was one of the masterminds behind the last four isenseven movies. Right now Felix is a successful filmer and editor on independent base and is still posted for isenseven shoots frequently.

Andi can be called more than a big fan of the isenseven productions: “I watched every new clip because the filming and editing skills of the isenseven crew are outstanding! I always wanted to get in contact with Felix Urbauer and ask him, if he might be interested in a mountain bike project. His style is just different to anything else I’ve seen in the mountain bike world and I was sure that a coop would kick ass!”

And in deed, Felix was more than interested. Due to the support from Giant, Zimtstern and Red Bull, the first filming sessions followed very soon. For the first teaser, it’s Andi Wittmann himself shredding dirt spots and alpine trails in Tirol and Wildkogel – Including a big double build on a summit just for FRAMED. Filmed on a RED camera using helicopters and cable cams, the first video clip gives a great impression of what can be expected in 2011.

But Felix points out: “It was big fun working with Andi, but at the same time not that easy for me. I had to transfer my experience into the mud and dirt scenery first to get creative results like in my skate or snowboard projects.” It obviously worked out fine and both are working on next year’s schedule to create a one of its kind mountain bike film that features some of the best European riders.

In beginning of season 2010 Felix Urbauer snowboard filmer and editor and myself decided that we would like to produce something unique. Since overseas, Videoproductions are a way bigger than in Europe, we thought it's time to do the first step and show, that the Euros are on their way to keep up in filming and edting amazing bike action ;)

Mid of November our project is going to be launched online. So be excited and check it out.
